One Woman’s Influence on an Entire Organization

This is a very polite, professional and personal woman I work with from time to time. Kathy is always smiling and friendly to everyone. One day while waiting for a meeting to start, Kathy shared how her and her pre-teen son go to a local food pantry to volunteer.
“We mostly do manual labor like cleaning or restocking the shelves,” she told me. They go once a month. What an example she’s providing her son by leading him to think of others.
But it doesn’t stop there. Kathy’s influence extends to our workplace too. She asked our human resources department is she could setup a collection area for employees to donate food on a regular basis. They responded by installing a cupboard in the lobby to collect the donations. Next to it is a sign highlight what items are needed.
Now, Kathy’s passion to help others has spilled over into her work life. Her idea has help hundreds of employees also get involved in helping others by making it very convenient to donate on a regular basis. The food pantry receiving more food all because someone got involved and asked what they could do.
Kathy is a shining example among the many women of influence I know personally. I thank God for the bleessing of knowing her. You can become part of group of women of influence stepping out in faith to make this a better world too.
